Some locations are beautiful no matter the time of day — but Jordan Pines at sunrise is truly on another level. The soft golden light pouring through the trees, the peaceful quiet of the mountains, and the glow reflecting off the creek creates the dreamiest atmosphere for engagement photos. Alaina and Brennon’s session was the perfect example of why this is one of my favorite locations for Utah engagement photography.
We started their session just as the sun began rising over Big Cottonwood Canyon, and within minutes the entire landscape transformed into warm golden tones. One of the things I love most about sunrise sessions at Jordan Pines is how calm and intimate they feel. Before the trails fill up, it feels like you have the entire canyon to yourselves — making it such a romantic experience for couples.
Alaina looked absolutely stunning in her lace dress, which moved so beautifully against the mountain backdrop and soft morning light. Brennon kept things classic and neutral, perfectly complementing the earthy tones surrounding them. Their connection was effortless from the very beginning, and capturing the way they laughed together and held onto each other so naturally made this session incredibly special.
Jordan Pines is one of my favorite engagement session locations near Salt Lake City because of how much variety it offers. Between the pine trees, mountain views, rustic bridges, open meadows, and flowing creek, every corner feels like a completely new backdrop. At sunrise especially, the light filters through the trees in the most flattering and romantic way, creating photos that feel soft, cinematic, and timeless.
Sessions like this are such a reminder of why I always encourage couples to consider sunrise for their engagement photos. The lighting is unmatched, the scenery feels even more magical, and the slower pace of the morning allows couples to really be present with each other.
